Meet the Faces Behind The Newport Tartan

Much like the strands of color that weave together The Newport Tartan, the team behind the brand is a duo of Aquidneck Island women whose decades of friendship create something more than the sum of its parts. Over years of friendship and travels Kelley Coen and Elizabeth Brantingham have dreamed of a project they could work on together. The Newport Tartan is the fruition of that goal.

Kelley and Elizabeth each bring different talents and skillsets to the table but are singular in their commitment to creating products that both celebrate their Celtic culture and heritage and support their community. The "Team behind the Tartan" hopes their products will be treasured by those who love Newport.

At the core of TNT is the mutual goal of giving back to the city we love by supporting organizations that make Newport a better place for those who live here. TNT donates its net proceeds to support scholarships, non-profit organizations, and events that celebrate our diversity, history, and community.

The Newport Tartan's launch product is a brush lambswool scarf woven in Scotland that has been available in limited quantities since the Spring of 2021. New inventory and products will be introduced in the Fall of 2021.
